It has been a fun few weeks in the studio, I've been bouncing around between projects. First I'd like to share a piece that just kinda popped out, I've named Colm. He's a plump little fellow who sits casually on his keister taking it all in, the view, the mood, what have you. His vibe is chill, he actually couldn't get riled if he wanted to, it's just not in his nature. He's content and low key.
He's also a work in progress, this figure is a casting made here in my studio, I am experimenting with casting and painting originals in small runs, this is my third attempt.
I think? I may experiment (like my fish) different color variations for this fellow, my first figure is earth tones and a bit of fluorescent green. I actually am home sick today so I can only estimate that Colm is 2.5 inches tall, and it's killing me I can't be at my studio working on him and his siblings today!
Speaking of fish!
I've been delighted to add a little more color to the lot, the orange was a special fishie for a friend, and I've been working on making more - but still having them be unique. My latest having a much more wet look, which I can't decide if I like it more or less. Each seems to have it''s merits. Here are some in progress pictures.
I guess that's all for now, I wanted to share what was new (before it gets old!) while I was laid up with nothing else to do. Please do note that if you contact me regarding orders to periodically check your spam folders as it seems to be where my replies have a chance of going. Nancy! Your fish is ready!! If you in interested in my fishies I still have a few left, contact me for details. Thanks for checking up on what's happening, have a wonderful day!
